Vegetarians may find it hard to build muscle due to foods lacking in protein and think they are at a disadvantage compared to their meat-eating counterparts. I have proven this wrong.I have been a vegetarian my whole life and have reached a high level competing in powerlifting. Through my years of lifting, I have significantly increased my muscle mass, improved my body composition and held state records in powerlifting. My best lifts recorded in the gym are: 565 squat, 335 bench press, and 675 deadlift.
I am also a medical student with an interest in preventive medicine through the lens of lifestyle modification - namely nutrition and exercise. I have been a proponent of preventive medicine for the past 4 years and provided advice to many people in advancing their health with a sustainable approach.
